Have you seen the trailer for "The Last Samurai"?

Him playing a samurai is as realistic as weird al getting an oscar for his role in UHF. Or like chevy chase playing in a drama and receiving an oscar.

Everyone is asian but him.....to me thats a slap in the face.....almost like blackface

    Vanilla Sky was OK.

Tom Cruise as an actor is OK.

Tom Cruise as a samurai I will wait to laff at or change the channel for free...if it's anything like Vanilla Sky or MI1 ( I haven't even botherd to watch MI2 yet) that will be a pretty good move on my part.
    Alright

And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town

Heheheheh...I was past the feeble attempt at metaphysics that that movie undertakes in highschool.

It was strictly a writing and directing (and editing) critique, nothing more.

ps- The Matrix is LIGHT stuff too! (metaphysics wise that is...)

If ya wanna get into some much truer metaphysics, rather than just some deep Sci-Fi...please allow me to recomend The Lathes Of Heaven.

No'one said this movie was as deep as the Atlantic Ocean, nor the "I know it all" complexity metaphysics... but simply the message and meaning behind what was important in the film..

So take ure scuba gear off and relax

OK...again...I had no problem at all with the plot...I thought it was the most innovative thing about the flick.

I was merely reponding to your question on whether I understood it...yes I did, and actually enjoyed that they went there. There are many movies now being made...mostly by scientologists...that are designed to draw the general public into metaphysical conciousness. Both Vanilla Sky and The Matrix are amongst these. I applaud these and all other flicks that challenge people to expand their fields of consciousness beyond their limited senses of the world around them.

Vanilla Sky was slow, long, and had a rather weak ending...it was OK.

And again, if it's the metaphysical aspect that appeals to you...I highly recommend The Lathes Of Heaven...particularly the original PBS version.

If there is some other message or meaning that you picked up that perhaps I didn't..please share it. I very well could have missed something (though I doubt it ).

Just another religion, perhaps more modern and deeper than most, but still only another religion just the same.

We have to learn to stop following these people who would have us search the universe for the answers...the truth does not lie without...it lies within!

Wonder why a good number of actors started becoming this.. Tom Cruise, Jon Travolta.. ect..

Its an interesting concept.. I've read about it..
