It'll be called "Advent Children" My desktop wallpaper is an Advent Children ad.
Only on DVD though and no actual confirmation that it will be brought to the states. Though given the broader appeal anime has gotten after Spirited Away, I think it's a good bet it will come here.

Don't know, but i'm all for the FF7 movie so long as the people who had a had in the FF movie are drug away by creepy crawly things to be slowly fed upon over time. And even if it isn't available here, I'm sure I can get my hands on it anyway..hehehehehHAHAHAHA

curious... What was 'wrong" with "The Spirits Within"? I rather enjoyed it. :donno:
oh, and while I'm all for the "Advent Children" movie, I'm curious how they're going to proceed with the storytelling.... i thought that the ending of the game was fairly closed, and left not much room for certain characters to come back (I dunno, I've not played the game, only heard about it from friends. I started playing FF's with VIII)

I have to say, Advent looks HELLA COOL!!!. Ok Cloud does like a bit too Shojo (pretty boy) but that's the Japanese for ya, gotta make Cloud appeal to the girlies too, not just Seph, although I'm sure they'll all be more into him as always.
What's wrong with Spirits Within you ask? I'd make a list for ya but how about the biggest reason of all..hmmm..It had absolutely NOTHING!!! to do with Final Fantasy. The only tie to the games what-so-ever was that there was a guy named Cid..that's it. If they had at least thrown in a chocobo in the background that would have been cool, or if they just called it Spirits Within and said it had nothing to do with FF, then it would have been a really cool movie.

na, it tide in some FF themes with the whole life of the earth and such. but i agree i was expecting black mages and summoned monsters etc. but hey, every final fantasy is a totally different story line.
overall themes and feelings maybe and the whole hint of espers and such, but nothing solid enough to call it a real connection...I was at least hoping one of those spirit monsters would have looked like a summons or something, maybe Bahamut..that would have been cool.

I think if they had been more faithfull it would have alienated a lot of average people from going to watch it.
We all know how much this film cost to make so square probably didnt want to make it specifically for diehard fans cause a lot of people wouldnt have had any idea what it was all about.
So instead it was hyped up for being the most realistic cgi ever and for costing so much etc.
So at the end of the day they had all the fans going to see it and coming away dissapointed and generally all the non fans who just saw it advertised went to see it and came away pleased.
Thats why this ff7 sequal is going straight to video and may never be released in america or europe.
