Emosia - Lost in You...I just noticed

The line "So close but yet so far/my imagination's running away with me"...Is it a reference to The Temptations - Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)"? Or is that just some phrase that everyone uses but I've never heard anyone use?

    That is all

"that's pretty deep stuff. that's not, 'yo yo yippy yo yo bling bling, smack a bitch.'"
"when i eat chicken nuggets....they don't look like they're in pain...but i believe that they were.."

as far as i know, saying your imagination is running away with you is a pretty common phrase. i can't think of an origin for it, and i hear it used frequently.

and both songs are about imagining a love that doesn't exist (mutually)

Yeah, I think Wendy has nailed it. Both Frankie Valli's "My Eyes Adored You" and The Temptation's "Just My Imagination" seem to be intentionally referenced in that line.
    Alright
Tap the lightpole and we'll be jammin all night
And ain't nobody callin' the cops
'Cause everybody's here freakin', if they're older they're doin the rock
And every block from all around
Comes runnin' to the park when they hear the sound
And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town
    "Yo, 40 Park y'all, Jam-On's gettin down"
    Yeah...

I can't help but hear that Temptations song anytime someone says that phrase. Possibly Eddie Kendrick's finest moment.
