Haven't tossed anything at you guys for a snippet. Here's a few more things i've been enjoying as of late...

One of my favorite bands, Supergrass and a song of their new album

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EPHk16mO20

And a group that's changed it's sound and made some fantastic tunes, Silverchair!

Electric Light Orchestra - "Turn To Stone" from Out Of The Blue http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itv6Kt8M-v4
There's just something I love about the 70's music and the use of electronic synthesizers, electric guitars, piano, strings, horns, etc.

Faith No More - "Evidence" from King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFYU0m3617E
and "Stripsearch" from Album Of The Year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EN5P_wTLKc
Slightly (but not completely) unexpected and enjoyable tunes from a "hard rock" band. In fact, Faith No More was progressive rap-rock before any of these current-day upjumped bands even thought of the idea. See Epic from The Real Thing. Actually, I believe that these are two of the best songs they've ever recorded.

The System - "Don't Disturb This Groove" (Album Version) from Don't Disturb This Groove http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8jO2a_18JE
Now THIS is a synth-pop masterpiece from the 80's. Love this classic jam.

Tony Toni Toné /feat. DJ Quik - "Let's Get Down" from House of Music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7lXPlh7qHw
Now THIS is a funky jam from the 90's. Love this modern jam.

Information Society - "I Like The Way You Werk It" from the EP Oscillator http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei9rFjRT5_A
Yes folks, they're still around. And the three original key members are back making the tunes.

Imprompt2 - "Enjoy Yourself" from You're Gonna Love It http://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Impromp2.html (No YouTube vid, sorry)
Love these guys. Smooth jazz-funk-R&B-you name it. Mellow, but it can make you start tapping your foot and not even realize it. Great for cruisin' in the car or playin' in the background in the bedroom. Got lots of compliments on "music choice" when I played this for background dinner music when I used to DJ wedding receptions.
"...Because all you of Earth are idiots!" - Eros, "Plan 9 from Outer Space"

Man, the more and more i think about it, i really love ELO. I just also picked up The Move which had Jeff Lynne in it as well. (message from the country)

Faith No More was a very underrated/diverse band. In the scheme of things they didn't get the credit they deserved....much like PM Dawn. I always yell about them to people. (Pm Dawn that is) Got to let the mass public know they dropped the ball.

I can honestly say it's probably been close to 14 years since i've heard that. I used to dig that song! Very sappy....

Wow! That song brought back a wave of memories. This is the first time ever that I miss the 90s.

I can't help but think that if this video were to be remade nowadays, or even five or six years ago, the guy would be acting like a "pimp" and she would be some club hoochie at some point in the video.
Wow, black women have gone from being worshipped in the 90s to being completely objectified and hated.

Since the love-fest for Faith No More is taking place, i thought this would be a fine chance to toss out one of his side-projects...

I love the voice of the guy in Peeping Tom. I just put in a friend request to them on myspace.
I didn't much like the one Devotchka song you put, but I like "We're Gonna' Make It", so they just got a friend request, too.

    Thanks.

I've checked every song on this thread, but I was too to respond. There was one that starts off with the guy singing something like "imagine if I drank like you do".
Shoot, I wish I could remember which link it was.

It was Lightspeed Champion! I found that song to be killer catchy. I remember listening to it on his My Space before i bought the album. (and the whole album is quite good)

    Here's another one..

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYKNZAN2KFE

The Peeping Tom is another album which is pretty solid all the way through. One of the songs if i'm not mistaken has Norah Jones kind of rapping?

I've also been checking out everyone's suggestions. SOme i've totally dug and others i've...well...lets just say i've dug less.

Devotcha is interesting but i'm not sold on them. It's a band some of my friends would appreciate far more than me.

Matt Costa on the other hand, i love. Talk about catchy and it's my theme song!

Don't need to get the anthology, I have all the Faith No More albums (with the exception of the pre-Patton era records, which I never really liked). I even have This Is It: The Best of Faith No More which has The Perfect Crime from Bill and Ted's and a few of the pre-Patton era songs on it.

Now that I liked! Patton has a fantastic voice, when he's not screaming. I think he's one of the few rock guys that can actually sing and do it well. Gonna look into picking this one up.

Yeah, you really can't go wrong with either one of his albums. They are both top notch and all around very catchy. I actually got lucky to stumble into his work from a friend of mine who gets cd's for free from his company. Matt's first album was in the stack and i grabbed it and was hooked shortly afterwards...
