It's only natural (I guess) that MOST artist have a "peak" album. I guess the sad part is that once that album drops, there is no way an artist can ever repeat/exceed that performance (even if the future albums are technologically better) or can they?

I'll humbly list a few of my favorites:

Michael Jackson -- "Thriller" ("Dangerous" was a good follow-up, I thought)
Earth, Wind & Fire -- "All N All" (Many many great follow-ups!!)
Seal -- "Seal" (the second album, although the first was great too.)
Sade -- hmm...a tough one but I'll say "Promise" ("Love Deluxe" was awesome too)
Anita Baker -- "Rapture" (great follow ups too)

etc. etc. I'm sure this is something that NO artist wants to hear, especially those who've made it big, but this is just a microcosm of life, n'est pas?

you just earned alot of bonus cool points for mentioning Adamski AND Killer!!! i have the single of the Adamski version.

i have to protest this comment. I think Human Being is Seal's best album, the songwriting is soooooo good. But from a production standpoint i think Seal(I) is the best. There are very few songs that make me want to dance like Crazy and Killer do!!!!

people just don't understand that Prince has mad guitar skills!!!!!

I think that princess song, Be, is one of me least favorite. Go figure.

"Lost My Faith" is my favorite from Human Being. I also like "Excerpt From", but it would have been better had it been a bit longer.

I remember seeing Seal in concert. He was VERY good live. I was impressed.

I like "Human Being", but he will probably never do an album that I will like better than the first one. And Trevor Horn produces some excellent stuff.

Just got the new "System" CD today and have been listening to it all day. It's okay. I like it better than I did the first couple times I played Seal IV. I think this one will grow on me too, but it is NOT better than his first album.

Watched the Victoria's Secret special the other night, Seal did two songs, and I didn't think either was very good. *shrugs*

I remember the first song I heard was Prayer For the Dying, and I hated it... but I was just a kid then. After I grew up a little, I heard Kiss From a Rose at the right time and then I appreciated all his music. It's when I started to see the world in a more spiritual, broader, more abstract light.
