well what do you want BE to do spend 20,000 recording with session players.. or sample? maybe he could use more obscure samples and chop em up

Considering what Be's been through before, you'd think he would have that shit sorted before he went down the road...

Using the well known samples may very well be a bridge into a bit more popularity... using lesser known samples could alienate new potential audiences. Maybe that's Be's angle?

I'm just happy Be's recording to be honest.. If they signed to a label they could pay the sample clearance..if they put it out themselves maybe they could get away with it ..

I'm sure that what ever he's doing, he's wouldn't be crazy enough to do something to make him go through all that shit again. He's learned the hard way, he wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

Lookin' forward to the album Be!

I could cop that track all by my lonesome without using a single sample or outside musician. In fact, I would make it sound even better. It's the mentality of WANTING to use samples that Be just can't get around.

That doesn't make sense. You think that people would dislike a song because they don't recognize a sample?

You can't get away with that shit anymore, and clearing those samples would probably be expensive as hell. "Holdin Back The Years" by itself would probably be a small fortune.

The mistake is living by sampling. It just costs too much these days.
