    Another aussie joins the ranks...

    Greetings all,

After being a bit of a fly on the wall at this forum (I'm not a huge forum fan, most of them seem "cliquey"). But after seeing the mention of Australia in Dr. Giggles' recent post, I thought I'd better join up and keep an eye on what's going on (PM Dawn in Aus? Bring it on!!!)

For anyone who could care less, here's some info about me.

Been a PM Dawn fan since The Bliss Album...? after a friend got it, and just seemed to identify with what every track was trying to achieve. I was totally blown away by the whole thing. Then I thought, I've gotta find out more about these guys...

Was then dissapointed to find out that this was only their second release, but got hold of the first and that was it... hooked.

I've got a few of the singles with non-album tracks on 'em, and have all the albums ,except the Greatest Hits... didn't see any point when I had all the tracks already - and besides, if you made their REAL Greatest Hits, it would have every song on it anyway.

I'm a 28 yr. old muso who plays bass, guitar and drums with equal mediocrity. My singing is a mere 57 positions behind in the race. The only thing I excel at musically is rythm - I've been told that, as far as the funk goes, for a white guy, I'm pretty fly

One partner, one ex-wife, three kids and a dog.

Look forward to getting to know some of you...

    Peace!

Oh yeah, sorta north-east of Ringwood... Never had much to do with that area... I moved between the Dandenongs and the City... until I got married and moved to the Mid-North Coast of NSW...

I looked up Melbin today on Wiki, and it looks like a beautiful city. When I can spare the cheese, I will definitely visit there.

    Alright
Tap the lightpole and we'll be jammin all night
And ain't nobody callin' the cops
'Cause everybody's here freakin', if they're older they're doin the rock
And every block from all around
Comes runnin' to the park when they hear the sound
And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town
    "Yo, 40 Park y'all, Jam-On's gettin down"
    Yeah...

I miss Melbourne... but I love the ease of country life

I get to work from home, and I travel occasionally; usually to Gold Coast, Sydney or Melbourne; gotta say, as far as the food and style go, Melb. wins hands down. Gold Coast is too touristy and I just can't stand Sydney...

And ss far as entertainment goes, Melbourne bands and clubs are by far the best

    P.S. Thanks for the welcome!

yeah man.. never understood why internationally sydney is supposed to be the best thing.. all the time i was in england people would say on their list of things to do b4 they die was check out sydney..
gold coast is fun for a week as is the sunshine coast.. love byron and the small areas around it like channon.. stayed in a rainforest area in a tent, checked out the hippie markets then went down to the beach everyday for a fortnight, best holiday ever!

Played a gig in Byron with a DJ (just adding bass over the top of what he did) and it was f#$%ing wild... some dude came up to the DJ booth and was licking a sticker that looked like it had been stuck there for a few years... plenty of people high as kites... Gold Coast gig we did the same weekend was much better!

Unless they do Sydney or Bris. gigs, or I'm down there for work. It will all depend on when they come and where they go. But rest assured, if there's only on Aus gig, I'll go, no matter where. It'd be good to meet you melbourne folk tho!

Need to be careful here Chase. I came on board about a year ago expressing a similar thought about these forums being too "cliquey" and got a bucketing. Mind you I was a little more direct - been quiet since then. Still a big fan but when the man himself serves up a pasting I'm happy to be just a bckground fan.
    The fan they did'nt ban....yet
