A Big Hunk O’ Love - Elvis Presley

    Alright
Tap the lightpole and we'll be jammin all night
And ain't nobody callin' the cops
'Cause everybody's here freakin', if they're older they're doin the rock
And every block from all around
Comes runnin' to the park when they hear the sound
And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town
    "Yo, 40 Park y'all, Jam-On's gettin down"
    Yeah...

You're so old, all the songs from your senior prom are now in the public domain.

Heheh... many of you probably have never owned a turntable. Just think, I grew up in the days when most radios only had AM, an "unbreakable" record would smash into pieces if you dropped it, and most "hi-fi" record players were mono. Y'all have no idea how good you have it.

I liked 8-tracks! The sound was pretty good (at least, I thought so at the time), and they were hard for my friends to destroy.
The thing I loved about vinyl singles were B-sides!
They hardly ever do B-sides anymore; just remixes.

I remember playing the shit out of The Police, Van Halen's "1984", Bread, Neil Diamond, etc., etc. on my turntables. I could locate any section of any Police song by site and could drop the needle on it with 98% accuracy.

Remember those big ass wooden box stereos that were (I guess) meant to look like a piece of furniture?

8-Tracks didn't come along until I was almost a teenager. Before that the only choice you had for albums was vinyl or reel-to-reel.

Naw, my dad had components. He was stylin'.
Solid state receiver (complete with <gasp> dual cassette tape recorder), turntable, equalizer, reel-to-reel. He still has the receiver; that baby is still breathing, and it sounds great, too!

Solid state receiver with a dual cassette recorder? That's the '80s son, not the '60s!
