    Would would it take?

I know some of you around here have had some experience in the music business.. so i'm asking.

What would it take for Pm Dawn's new tracks to hit iTunes? its a great market for Be.. even if its a single.
Think about it.. its the most popular source for music right now, and they seem to be pretty good about promoting the artists on their site.. you get a 30 second preview of each song.. that to me, is important.. due to the quality of their songs, thats all the listener would need to wanna buy the track..

I know the record labels are a big reason.. but hey, im just askin..

I really enjoy Josh Rouse's work.. and he is a very strong iTunes artist.. I kindof thought about it when I was browsin his music on the iTunes, Even if he decides to throw out a experimental EP, iTunes has it.. and he is now at a small label.. if thats any relevance to the question..

It would take Be to decide to put them on there. Nothing more, nothing less. Of course, this is assuming that he has all of the rights to his new tracks.
    Alright
Tap the lightpole and we'll be jammin all night
And ain't nobody callin' the cops
'Cause everybody's here freakin', if they're older they're doin the rock
And every block from all around
Comes runnin' to the park when they hear the sound
And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town
    "Yo, 40 Park y'all, Jam-On's gettin down"
    Yeah...

that site puts your music on itunes for free... It doesn't take much.. I think it would be great to get any new music be has on itunes.. people searching for set adrift or die without you would then find it.. I buy all my music off itunes now and just put it straight onto my ipod..

I agree it would be great for exposure and ease of access for the masses, but there is something about haveing the CD that I like. Not just burning my own, but having a nice CD with the CD art, insert art, liner notes, etc. PM Dawn was one of the greatest at packaging! To me, they really made the CD worth owning! Of course, I saw always a big fan of LPs for the same reason... but then that starts to show my age...

I totally like having the CD too. Besides having a physical CD, the sound quality is MUCH better on a CD than it is on a compressed format.
I just don't end up where think I'm going when I start out.

Yeah, when I was a kid we would put our dopest album covers up on our walls. Some even came with folded posters in them. How the hell you gonna put an mp3 up on your wall?

Putting it on iTunes isn't taking the music away from cd pressing.. at all.

I think that he was saying his personal preference for his own collection, not that it would take anything away from CD pressing.

Yup. It definitely would be more popular with the youngest generation - the instant satisfaction generation. I just would not want to see CDs go away if an artist were to concentrate releasing only to online resources.

I also think the way artist put up "exclusive work" on iTunes just makes their sales rise even more.. think about it.. You buy their album.. then go on iTunes to buy whats not on the the album, like an exclusive ep or something..

iTunes gets me everytime with the exclusive stuff...
