Since it seems this theoretical person is going for comedies.... The Office (Amer. Vers.), Two And One Half Men, Everybody Hates Chris.
    Alright
Tap the lightpole and we'll be jammin all night
And ain't nobody callin' the cops
'Cause everybody's here freakin', if they're older they're doin the rock
And every block from all around
Comes runnin' to the park when they hear the sound
And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town
    "Yo, 40 Park y'all, Jam-On's gettin down"
    Yeah...

nah man.. comedy is just all i could think of so far.. i was looking into "The Wire" which you dudes raved about on here for a while but can only find season 2 onwards.. which begs the question, is it worth watching from season 2 or will i have no clue whats going on ?

Yeah, you'll figure it out, but it would be great if you could find the first season.

Ahhh, HBO shows... Deadwood & Rome!

I've never read her NCIS blog, but I visit her official website once in awhile, and she has a blog there, too. If what she talks about in the blog is any indicator of what she's like, then she's almost as cool as Abby. So, I guess I love me some Pauley, too.

I loved the Chip storyline! For so many weeks, I was asking, "Why in the world is he even on the show?" The character was SO annoying. Little did I know that they were going to build up to such a great payoff.

So, do they show CBS shows in primetime in Oz?
I wish they'd show Aussie shows here; I hear they show bare tiddies.

Battlestar Galactica is one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. The miniseries that started it was REALLY good. I just finished watching Season 1 and I can't wait to see what happens in Season 2 (I just got the DVDs).
I just don't end up where think I'm going when I start out.

You'll love season 2; they really move the story along at a full clip.

I knew you were from outer space, but I didn't know you were allied with the Twelve Colonies!
I could write pages and pages of what I like about the new Battlestar Galactica. I remember the days when the shows on cable all sucked; now, they are outdoing the Big Three Networks, quality-wise.

Ok, I'll just support what everyone else has already mentioned: Battlestar Galactica, Family Guy, Prison Break, NCIS

And I'll add: American Dad ("Ohhh Francine, straddle my bowl...")
