I meant the people who put up the pmdawn myspace site probably didn't know what ASCAP is, not MySpace themselves.

Alright
Tap the lightpole and we'll be jammin all night
And ain't nobody callin' the cops
'Cause everybody's here freakin', if they're older they're doin the rock
And every block from all around
Comes runnin' to the park when they hear the sound
And soon the word's spreadin' through our part of town
"Yo, 40 Park y'all, Jam-On's gettin down"
Yeah...

I was talking about MySpace in the first place. They are the ones providing the computers and technology to stream the music to the visiters. I would think MySpace would be responsible if they allow folks to store and stream copywritten music from their site/servers.Originally Posted by Cozmo D
And from the looks of that paragraph, they seem a little familiar with the legal issues they may be bumping up against. Looks like they are trying to bury folks in paper work to get things removed.

Good point, If they've partnered with ASCAP there's a good possibility that they have a blanket fee arrangement with the performance rights societies. If this is the case then the people who are doing the streams just may be doing Be a favor, depending on how the performances are sampled or reported.Originally Posted by pmFan
