    i used 2 love ICQ years ago, then people started using MSN big time.. i wasnt a fan of the way it was .. i stopped instant messaging almost 3 years ago now.. what is the best one these days or what does everybody use?

    it's the simple answer...just get trillian and run them all on it, the new trillian 3 that's not out yet is hardcore, trillian 2 is pretty nice itself.

    I'll never touch the normal IM clients again

    You know, I tried trillian for a while, and it bugged the crap out of me. I have the Yahoo, MSN, and ICQ clients installed again because they each gave me something that I used that trillian didn't offer.

    The system load from those three clients running is miniscule. If you have the right DLL's for ICQ, you don't have ads either. And even if they are they you're not obligated to click on them. The Yahoo and MSN clients are not ad based.
