I watched it last year and yeah it was funny, but although Kelly clarkson has a good voice, I believe that Tamyra should have won, she was on point throughout, even on that song that they said wasn't her best. I truly believe that it was a set-up from the start, it is not meant for a person of color to win. That is to say, pop music is made to be for white people(i.e. elvis presley's) to sing black music, especially so that sheltered middle white America can think it safe to let their underage children listen to it(don't crucify me, I'm no rascist) but it's true. However, I do enjoy watching Simon insult people in his drab English accent, and I can't believe how some people really think they can sing! But then again, I guess they say, well if Britney can do it with her terrible voice then so can I. :umm:

I don't quite agree. While Tamyra absolutely got rooked when she lost to Nikki, and she definitely was the strongest when they all started, Kelly just got better and better every friggin week. By the time they were near the end Kelly had surpassed everybody, including Tamyra...even with that wack ass song they wrote for her. She deserved to win.

I think Tamyra will have the better career though, it's almost like a blessing that she didn't win. Now she's working with Babyface, which if you ask me HAS to be an upgrade from being signed to Simon (though I don't know who Tamyra is actually signed to...).

They better write some better material for Kelly...or let her go Country or sumthin.

Kelly blew me away, I thought her voice was so awesome. But I can dig what you're saying, Rumi. Especially that Britney Spears thing. She's giving false hope to a lot of the auditioning people. Well, some of them can't hold their notes... but the ones who can are equal to Britney, imho.

No problem for the reminder Be... Part 2 of the auditions is on tonight at 8:30 pm on Fox... And i think it is safe to say that out of what they have shown as far as the auditions go, that this time around there seem to be less impressive people...but that could just be because they are intentionally showing the screw-ups for now...

I do agree that Kelly has an awesome voice; and alot of the others had great voices too...but i am sure that they are all working on something since they had 15 minutes of fame to help jump start a career for them...And this brings me to a question i have had since the beginning of the last season; do you think that the votes of the american public are really represented, or is it all a set up, and the winner has been "pre selected"? I would love to hear everyone's opinion on this.

Oh don't you knopw it! yes, yes, yes, it is a set up, although like I said, pop music is about the next Elvis or Elvisete, not the next Aretha Franklyn or Whitney Houston. Just when it was a straight shooter for Tamyra, somehow gravity was fucked with. I believe, that this will happen again if it seems that another talented person of color is in the lead. As for the viewers,I don't think that everyone who called got through, but I think that that is just a thing that happens, I am sure they don't have but so many phones and computers. And then there are the people who take the calls, surely there were alot of ballot mistakes that went unchecked.

I agree Rumi! I also wonder how the voting could work for those of us who live on the west coast, and couldnt vote within the 2 hour limit after the show aired on the east coast! i dont think it was made fair...and even if it was, i doubt it would have mattered since the officials made their decision as to who they wanted in advance...

I don't understand why they have to sing so called "classics" when they get up in the rounds. I know they have to show vocal ability and range... but you can find range with more recent songs.... and it wouldn't have to be R&B either....

OK, I was worried, but the final 3 is right on. Joshua would make a pretty decent country singer but he has no place up there with Ruben, Clay, and Kimberley.

Next week, Kimberley should get the boot and then it'll be a horserace between Ruben and Clay, a toss-up in my opinion. Ruben has perhaps the best instrument of the 2, but Clay is fukkin amazin!!! I think I may have heard him hit 1 bad note the whole competition! Ruben is definitely more of the "American Idol" (Pop) type, so it's anybody's guess. Me, I'm undecided on who to root for as long as it's 1 of them.

My final 4 from the beginning (once Frenchie was eliminated) would have been the same except I had Ricky instead of Joshua...he got rooked! So did Trenyce. I was so damm glad to see those weak singing blondes finally get the boot!

I guess maybe America ain't so tone deaf afterall!

I couldn't agree with you more here Coz; It is a toss up between Clay and Ruben...I personally prefer Ruben, but I definately feel there is a future for Clay as well. If the 'loser' doesn't get some kind of record deal I would be very surprised; they both have amazing voices!

Well, I think that turned out just about perfectly. Basicly a dead heat with Rueben comin out on top...both of them should go far with Clive Davis pullin the strings!!!

I guess we can put that "not meant for a person of color to win" theory to rest...eh Rumi?

I most definately agree with you both Coz and Louis!! Ruben Rocks!! That was a very tight race with an almost even amount of votes. But in my opinion they both have incredible voices.
