Instructions on how to use your pmdawnonline.com account

As of now this is still in the testing stage so only a few of you have this.

FTP

To upload your website, connect to ftp.pmdawnonline.com using an FTP client and you will be in your private folder, you MUST place anything you want the public to see in the "web" folder. You'll see the web folder when you login, and remember to name the main page of your site "index.html" or "index.htm" (index.php also works but I don't think anyone will be using php files)

or you can access your email through outlook by entering mail.pmdawnonline.com for the POP and SMTP server address's

after everything is setup the server WILL NOT allow linking pic's and other stuff to other websites, that kind of stuff eats up bandwidth and theres not much of it to spair for the "free" stuff when I have customers paying for their websites to be on a fast connection.

no not just the name peeps see, the whole user name "somethingelse"@blahblah

oh, well I can change your username OR add an alias for your username that would mean that your username would still be frek but you would also be able to recive email at freksothername@pmdawnonline.com, you can have as many aliases you want.

what happens is when someone sends an email to you the server looks at who has that alias and then delivers it to you. this way your webspace will still be www.pmdawnonline.com/~frek

but it's up to you

speaking of the website thing, how come i can only see the pics from my computer? do i have to upload them into the ftp? then how do i link them?

yes you have to upload them
link pics like so /nameofpic.jpg

login to http://www.pmdawnonline.com/personal and click on "usage data"

How do I check the stats on the pages and files. I wanna see how many times a page was visited or how many times su'in was downloaded. Can I even do that?

it doesn't log stats on a per user basis all that stuff shows up for the site admin only
