Currently playing "Super Mario All-Stars" on the snes9x emulator... (Yoshi's Island) What a trip down memory lane!
Wow... I haven't heard anybody mention sne9x in a long time ... I use zsnes
I still have my SNES (hooked up in the daughter's room...she likes to play with MarioPaint) so I only use sne9x when I want to play a game I might not have.
The emulator: Mame32

The game:

Install mame32, then put the sinistar.zip file in the roms directory.
I've got about 1300 different arcade games on file that run on Mame32 - let me know if you need any more.
I recommend getting a old xbox ebay 50$ to 70$ some around 40$
There is a software mod installer now. use it flash the xbox
Will need to rent halo2 and 007 and a memory stick. and get some files from your pc to the stick.
I have all stations roms and play them more than any xbox game.
Well worth the money

I've got MAME roms also...tho, not quite as many as Brian.
I can't get to them right now, unfortunately.
The video card on my main system took a dump last night. Not enough money around to buy a decent one (all my money goes to pay the bills and I don't get an allowance). Don't have a spare card to throw in, either. Using my old computer in my daughter's room to get online. So, I'm just gonna sit and wait until the wife gets pissed that she can't use the computer and "authorizes" me to purchase a new card.
Yep I've got about as many as Brian, version .110, there's a torrent site that specialises in these if anyone's interested http://www.pleasuredome.org.uk/
However, these days, PINBALL emulators are where it's at! yall. I'm HOOKED on the Guns & Roses pinball machine...
Pinball emulators...?!
info please...been out of the loop on that one.
Fukkin amazing, some people had waaay too much free time, and figured out how to emulate the score displays from Pinball Rom Dumps ... some other folks took it a step further and decided to emulate the machines themselves... Now, you're thinking, "But Pinball is a machine, not like an arcade game ..." So you download not only the dump of a given pinball rom, but a layout of the "board", give it an animated "ball", and bada bing!
google for pinmame, and visual pinmame, they go together. the pleasuredome site I mentioned above also carries the roms needed for these. Probably any pinball machine you could ever remember, is right there.
Problem solved!
Got an "early" birthday present from my mother-in-law (she rocks!). Picked up an eVGA GeForce 7600GS 256MB DDR2 card to replace the blitzed 6800GT I had. It definitely was the video card. Couldn't restart the old card without seeing funky lines at the post screen (had to shut down, wait 20 seconds, then power up). Now, all is a-okay!
So, to stay on topic:
Tempest ownz!
Sinistar rocks!
Anyone liked Gyrus?
Now Gyrus was my shit! One of the few arcade games that I liked to play. Other than that I usually stuck to pinball. :D
Cozmo You Are A Pinball!!!!
Loved Gyrus, myself.
Pinball was what I started on, tho. I remember when I was staying with my grandmother over the summer and she had to go to the hair salon. The owner of the shop owned the bar next door and he had a mid 70's pinball in there ($.10 per play). I played the hell out of that thing.
My favorite pinballs were the late 80's/early 90's Williams pinballs.
Should really check out Pinmame.
