gubment PB made the *best* PB cookies! Now my wife usually gets the generic PB for cookies. Something about the ultra cheap stuff that gives the cookies a good flavor - maybe additives? who knows...Quote:

if any1 wants to try my rice..
heat up some oil in a saucepan.. chuck in a bit of onion..saute that 4 a minute..throw in a cup of basmasti rice... also put in abt an inch of cinnamon stick a few cloves a few peppercorns a couple of bayleaves and half a teaspoon of tumeric....mix that around..throw in two cups of chicken stock..bring to the boil...then gas on low..and let that simmer for 15 minutes..turn the gas off ..let it sit for 5 minutes..and there u have it! :cheers:
many of the Indian and Chinese dishes we get in Western countries arent from those countries at all but were invented to suit our palates... in australia we have "Dim Sims" as a supposed chinese dish.. it aint.. made in melbourne!
and in england the indian restauranteur down the street told us that 30% of their dishes are unavailable in india, they were new dishes created with extra cream, yoghurt,honey etc
