How hard were you hit Sdl? I know somebody else from your area that just got minor damage to his house, lost shingles and stuff. Hope you and yours are OK.Quote:

All those people with thier lovely large SUV's and trucks that commute every day to Santa Barbara are now the ones bitching the most about the increase in cost. Too damn bad for you that you bought the gas guzzler in the first place. Learn to carpool with someone in an economy car.
But still, I think there is widespread price gouging across the board here. The west coast does not recieve a majority of it's crude oil from the gulf states.
I've asked my father about just why California has higher gas prices than most other states. [BTW, my father is the vice president of Maintenance for his uncle's wholesale petroleum transportation company (http://www.gnrenn.com).] It's because our lovely state has so many environmental restrictions, we have to have our refineries crack a specific formula of gasoline that, supposedly, burns cleaner. Thus, the additional cost passed on to the consumer. The situation on the gulf coast is bad for the gas business, but not as bad as they're leading you to think.
Guess it's high time we hurry up that fuel cell technology, eh?
We got hit hard.. but damage was minimal.. NOTHING compared to the stuff that surrounds us..Quote:

Sucks doesn't it.
Just spreading what I've heard: There's an all-call to boycott Mobile and Exxon in an effort to get them to lower their prices. If they lower their prices, the other stations will follow suit.
I'm doing it. No biggie.
Don't believe the hype.Quote:
