ok im like 19.7 now which sounds bad but is actually amazing considering the amount of food i ate over the holidays.
i also have 3 tons of candy but as of today im back into the diet.

I'm gunna throw in my 2 cents, I second Louis about the weight lifting as it will burn more even when you're not working out, but you may want to check into the atkins diet as well. I know many people who have had FANTASTIC results, and they're not hungry all the time like other diets as you are allowed to eat most proteins in unlimited quantities. My theory is this: people have socially evolved faster than our bodies have evolved -- essentially our lifestyles are sedentary but our bodies still think we're running round in the woods. If we were in the wild what would we eat lots of? Lots of veggies, fruit, meat, seeds, nuts, berries, and not too many carbs. Bread doesn't grow on trees -- it has to be cultivated and processed, and humans have only been doing that for a few thousand years -- which is nothing compared to the scale of human evolution. So our bodies cannot really process most processed carbohydrates well -- that's why they so easily throw off our blood sugars.

Maybe I'm confused :confused: ...I thought a vegan was someone who gave up all animal products including dairy and eggs? Aren't carbs still ok if they're purely plant derived ingredients? :donno:

Nah it doesn't matter where you get your carbs, carbs are bad if you have too many. Pasta is full of carbs.... that's why tony soprano isn't exactly in shape, lol. Moderation is the key of anything, moderation of carbs... including vegetable servings is very important.
Warning: I'll now be sort of veering off topic to go into my own personal anecdote (like we didn't see this coming...)
When I became vegetarian, I gained a lot of weight. I do eat a lot of carbs...
But, I actually think it was the birth control I was on. I have always been able to eat whatever I want and stay skinny, so this rapid weight gain was a shock...
That was a few years ago. I no longer take birth control and I still eat whatever I want. Through some hard work, I've lost 25 of the 30 pounds I gained on the pill.
Woohoo! And I did this over a period of say, last July to last November-December.
Awesome stuff. It really helped me to feel better about myself, so I'm always so psyched about it.
