I am so scared

I know I am not very active in this forum, but I just found out some news today I needed to post in here because I need to know it is going ot be o.k. I just found out today that I am going to be a dad. I am not married, but it is with my girlfriend. I know there are some dads in this forum, and us all being PM Dawn fans I thought maybe this is where I need to go just for some strength. I am so scared I don't even know how to go to work today and try and be funny and exciting on the air when I am so afraid of my future. So just please somebody with kids tell me that it is all going to be OK, and that having kids was the best thing that ever happened to them. Right now all I am thinking is that my life is over. That may just be the selfish guy in me talking. Just please help me...

It is awsome. the first smile. When you see yourself in them. The first time you realize they are going to look up to you. Knowing you can make them laugh at anytime(one of the best parts). it goes on and on. This isnt a pick me up for ya this is honesty. I love my kid and i love What he brought out in me. Its what I look forward to at 5 when i leave me office.

Thinking maybe he can change this world. He might one day find a cure for something. A part of me is going to go on after im passed, I have a chance to make someone a better person that i was.

Kids rock...I have two now, 2 and 4 -- I've never known a greater joy.

Meeting my wife was the best thing that ever happened to me, the kids are a close second. If your girlfriend is the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with, then your kids will only intensify that blessing. :)

Even though we've known for three weeks, we had confirmation today with an ultrasound that our fourth has a due date of November 19th.

I hate to turn this into an advice column, but I have nowhere else to turn. Coz I know you are an artist/performer. Did you feel like having kids took you out of the "loop" a little. Like did it hinder you in persuing a music career. I am just a radio DJ, but I have to stay on my hustle to stay #1. So I am worried that this is going to take all my time up and then I will have to go back to a 9-5. Was it hard for you to stay doing what you do and have a kid?

it is totally understandable that you are scared, but i really feel like things happen for a reason. maybe being #1 won't matter when you have children. at any rate, things will work out. relax, and enjoy the good news!

No, it INSPIRED ME!!! It was when we found out that Yvette was pregnant that we KNEW we were going to be successful with the music. We would even take BJ on tour with us.

The main thing though was I had a partnership. Yvette and I always have felt that together we could accomplish anything, so we looked on our having kids as nothing less than a blessing!

The day BJ, my eldest was born I left them at the hospital, went home and drank with Chilly B for the rest of the night, then went to my job cleaning Coney Island beach for the Parks Dept. I was a good hour early so I went out and started by myself since the rest of my crew wasn't there yet. By the time I got to the dock by the Parachute Jump I was mad tired and still a bit drunk, so I climbed up in a lifeguard's chair to sleep. My crew woke me up when they got there. They had a big boombox with them and on the radio when they woke me up was MY FUKKIN SONG!!! This was the first time that they had ever heard it and only like the 3rd time that I had heard it on the radio. TALK ABOUT MAGIC! I quit the next week. :)

BJ and I go to that dock every year on his birthday about 4 in the morning and chill, drink and talk until the sun comes up, just like I did the day he was born. :D

Boogie, seriously, kids are a blessing to a blessed union! I only wish that your union is at least half as blessed as mine. :)

Now, if the 2 of you are not life partners it's a whole 'nother story. ;)

The baby stage is all "ooh ahh, it's soo cute, etc" but once they can walk and talk then you're going to have a ball. I got a really cool little friend that will be 3 in a month, known him since he was a week old...I'd consider him to be my "little" best friend and wouldn't trade knowning him for anything.

Nothing bad can come from this, you're going to have a lot of fun.

I even kinda feel left out on this with everyone else talking about kids...guess I better go get me a wifey :D

Be scared... it's alright... Just be there for the lil guy/girl!! Please... we don't need no mo Chuks out here!!:D Show that love that you already have for the child that you may not even see now!! It's there... You made it (love) with your lady!! Treasure it... It's a great thing... Very Great!!! Boog, All I want to say is Congratulations and just be a father to you child... If you don't know how... just spend as much time you can and a lil more with the little one and GOD will do the rest!!
