One of my favorite CDs of all time is Black Sheeps "A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" -- still listen to it regularly today. But I had a question on two of the lines -- I think they show up several times. Does anyone know what they're talking about here:
"I remain sober when I drop a hit,
But I put gum in my ass cause I like to pop shit."
... gum in my ass? What the hell is he talking about?
"But in the meantime, I try to hawk one
I try to hawk one, in the meantime"
... hawk what? Spit?
And what's the connotation on a "Strobe-light ho" and "Similak Child?"
Thanks,
Rookie-Wino

Gum in my ass is a word play off of his likin to pop (talk) shit. He doesn't mean it literally.
Don't know about the hawk shit.
A strobelight ho is a chick who looks fine when you're dancin with her at a party, but scary as shit when you get her in the light. I would need to see how he used Similac Child, but most likely that means the chick is jailbait...it has long been thought in urban circles (hell, I think I came up with the original theory) that Similac (Soy based milk substitute for feeding babies) makes kids develop prematurely...especially the girls.
