I just found out my grandpa is in the hospital in critical condition. They don't think he will make it through the night. Any prayers/ thoughts for his well being would be welcome; as I am very sad and scared...I haven't had to deal with losing anyone in my family as a child growing up...so I'm not sure how to handle this.........................

 my prayers go out to you and him hun....

Dee,
There is no patterned way to handle the death of a family member; different people grieve in different ways. It can be VERY hard in the beginning. I loss my grandpa when I was seven, and I can still remember the day he had a heart attack (vividly). Sometimes the thought of the loss of a of loved-one cuts like a knife. But we have to keep in mind that they are going to a better place where they will have peace. That process is a lot harder on those who are left behind. The only things that makes the process better are precious memories and time. Regardless of what ultimately happens, your grandpa knows that you love him.
All the prayers,
Louis

Thank you everyone for your kind words...you have no idea how good it feels knowing that so many care; especially during hard times.
An update; my grandpa has acute kidney failure and congestive heart failure. He is still hospitalized, but his condition is becoming more stable; so with good care and continued prayers, he should be able to recover. I can't thank you all enough...you are all my second family; and knowing I have somewhere to turn for love and support is a great thing.
