Man, I'm really shocked and saddened by this news. I really liked her-- she was really talented, and her charisma shone through in her characters. She was creepy-adorable in Drive, which is probably my favorite American-made martial arts movie EVER, and she was also hilarious as the voice of Luann on King of the Hill.
I guess I can understand hopeless people messing around with drugs, but I just can't figure out these people with talent and a career and a future doing it.

Brittany Murphy, dead at 32. Rest in peace.

And she was damn cute, too. What a loss. She seemed to have one of those tragic personalities...

She was extremely talented. One of my favorite things she ever did was voicing Luann. Hilarious. Also, did anyone hear her singing voice in Happy Feet? She was great. And of course, she was very cute.

They don't know if it's drugs yet. They think "natural causes"... my guess is that it was weight-related, like diet pills. She seemed to have a thing about staying extremely thin.

RIP..... :(

I would like to believe that it was natural causes (it's somehow easier for me to take it if someone dies because of something that couldn't be avoided), but she was fired from a few different projects, lending to her growing reputation in Hollywood for being "difficult," and that is usually Hollywood code for being "too wacked out on drugs to listen to the director".

The thing is, I don't think she was nearly as cute when she lost weight (or when she went blonde). Here's an excerpt from Drive, with Brittany Murphy's first scenes in the movie (the still image I posted earlier is from this scene). IMO, she plays the heck out of her part, from start to finish.

As you can see, she's got a little bit o' baby fat in this flick (it's from the late 90s), and I think she looks lovely with it.
I'll miss ya, Deliverance Bodine.

I had thought we might get lucky and escape the year without losing another celebrity, but alas... :(

R.I.P....

When I heard it announced on the radio, I screamed "What the fuck?!" so loud that people outside came running up to the house to see what was going on.
I'm heartbroken.
