It's probably played as "on hold" music or something...

Those renditions are JUST OK. I can't stand to hear anyone else do "Die Without You" . That song is sacred somehow. At the risk of sounding like a suckup, I must say this version just reconfirmed for me the fact that NO ONE can sing that song as well as Prince Be.

I agree. It's just fucking wrong whenever someone else sings it. Wrong.

Wailing cat-in-heat wrong.
Iron hard nails screeching down a chalkboard wrong.
American Idol rejects trying to sing wrong.

I hope it's never "covered" by any popular artist, evar!

Didn't Brandy cover it a few years ago?

What's past is past. My statement applies to the future.

There are certain songs that should never be attempted.

Especially, if you can't sing it near as good as the original.

Be's "Blurry" was better than the original.

What you SHOULD hope is that it's covered over and over and over again. ;)

Hmmm...that's true also.

Be could always use royalties for the songwriting credits.

There's something just fundamentally wrong with such a perfect song being butchered by another. I wouldn't buy it, so Be wouldn't see the money, unfortunately.

How much have you seen from Hip-hop artists using "elements" of your stuff, Coz?

Plenty! Just finished a deal with a French turntablist group called Birdy Nam Nam today. I get 50% of the royalties, 85% of the publishing and a $2500.00 advance. :wiggle:
