Yes, yes. First of all, Cheers to Sdl for posting this. We're all mourning Deshaun here in Detroit right now. I didn't know the cat personally, more like from the around the way as we used to run with a lot of the same people. He was by far the most lyrically talented person in D-12. I'm not gonna make this a long post cuz I have a houseful of people here (smokin, drinkin in Deshaun's honor) and my phone has been blowin up since early this morning about this shit - someone said let's see what it says on the internet. I really didn't expect to see this here, so again, with no sarcasm at all, Sdl, thanks for the post.

REST IN PEACE DESHAUN.

I read about this in one of the ICP sites. Esham and Lavel will (probably) have him on their new cds. Maybe, if they can get over their shit.

Rappers and violence. *sigh*

What a shame.

Looks like police are saying that PROOF pistal whipped a guy and shot him first.

We'll see how this unfolds.

I'd just like to say that everybody feeling "SORRY" for this fallen rap star needs to check themself. I felt bad at first, but then the whole story unfolded and it appears PROOF started the whole thing by pistol whipping a guy and shooting him in the face (and the guy died recently). So I mean, everybody is like "BOO fuckin' HOO" for this rapper and it's such a shame, but truth is...it looks like he's the one who started it, so maybe the rappers need to check themselves and stop acting like fucking hardcore hoodlums!! :)

Why are you calling him a rapper like it has a fukkin thing to do with it? Like the fukkin word is an insult?

You were just looking too much into what I said. I'm calling him a rapper, because he is a rapper?

huh? I don't understand what you said, but who are you talking about feeling bad for who was murdered? PROOF? BY law, Proof wasn't murdered. Police are saying it was defensive. You must be talking about the guy that Proof murdered?

Although none of us know the real truth, the evidence seems to prove otherwsise. It makes me sick watching everybody SIDE with PROOF, just because he WAS a rapper. Everybody is all like POOR PROOF..he was shot!! Nobody gives a shit about the other dude that PROOF shot and killed FIRST! I mean come on people!! Stop sucking people's nuts. I liked PROOF. His image seemed like a nice/fun rapper. However, if he did what the evidence said he did, then oh fucking well. He wasn't murdered he was the murderer.

You were clearly using "rapper" as a negative.

it had nothing to do with him being a rapper... this could have been beef between any two people in a bar, and it spun way out of control.. and YES, I do feel bad for proof, and the other guy... I feel bad that things had to end over something like an argument...

Tree - I think everyone was "boo hooing" when the only news any one heard was that a successful entertainer was shot and killed in a bar, leaving a family behind. I highly doubt any one has as much sorrow for him after hearing the details as they did *before* hearing the details. It is still sad to hear that anyone died - whether they were in the right or in the wrong.

I remember when I was little my father used to shoot pool - really well. Until he had too many drinks. Then his mouth would put up more than his cue stick could back up. He came home covered in blood on more than one occation, even jailed a few times due to fights at bars. I would have probably felt sorrow if he had died - even if he had shot someone first.

It's all bad - it's all a waste - give it a rest.

The Bottom Line is We as Hip-Hop Artist Lost One of our own. Be and I just did a peace awareness concert for this very reason: 2 catch the kids early on and hit home that Violence is not the answer under any circumstances. Instead of going back and forth, talk about a solution to this on going epidemic!!! The 1st step is for these Artist(not "Rappers Thank u") Need to stand up and be the champions they were meant to Be!!!

Well..to this day I'm 98 percent ANTI-MODERN RAP ARTISTS.

As far as I'm concerned, they are tarnishing a once beautiful/fun/insightful genre and glamorizing everything that is immoral in life.

They can rot as far as I'm concerned. Anybody who supports things that make the world a worse place to live in, can get off the planet. It's already too populated.

I hate that rap artists feel obligated to fit the stereotype rapper image and use the same redundant forumla for songs. Everything rappers spoke out against in the 90s, rappers are glamorizing today.

I own hundreds upon hundreds of hip hop CDs, and I've watched it it spiral downward. I don't even consider it rap anymore.

Plus, I'm sick of hearing rappers from the 90s changing their style up with the times. I guess the music they made had NOTHING TO DO with the music that was WITHIN themselves. It's obvoius now that it had to do more with them just jumping on a modern trend of music that is PUSHED into the mainstream suburban kid's heads.
