ive been workin on a podcast for my site for a couple of months now..ive finally figured out the best way to do it and that is using skype..and skylook to record it..

skype works for me but i havent got a recording program (mac!!) and gizmo wont start yet.. think i gotta forward some more ports..

In layman's terms, please explain how this works and what it takes to be a part of it.

usually people do podcasts using skype or another internet conference call software to connect people up who wanna take part and one person who is in the conference call records and edits the file then posts it to the site as an mp3... it also gets setup so people can "subscribe" to the podcast and have it downloaded automatically to their computer when there is a new show online

ok so everyone that's in on this has a headset or mic right? once we get final details together I'll setup a server at the data center to host the hub of the chat, this way we won't max out a DSL or Cable connection with several people connected to it.

get a headset ether..they are pretty cheap..and excellent for podcasts

well i got some decent headphones and the mike is one on a long flexible wire, its for vocals.. but i might get a headset anyways so i can start using skype
