The outcasts, lucky seven, club battle pennywise. Kids rule over adults. Wistful message of the purity & power of the young ones that some adults lose & deny. Who are the real "losers?" Great one!

3. Rose Red see the pizza scene?
4. "heeeeeeere's Johnny"
5. Hearts in Atlantis first 1/2 of the book is mesmerizing.

Looks like King has got at least 6 things in pre, post plus production.
Haven't caught up with the rest yet. wow the man amazes me. Edgar Allen Poe would be proud to see where King took the genre.
Typically I don't even like horror movies/stories either. :D
(@ 16 saw Halloween, couldn't sleep for awhile and that was it for me.)

Have to get to Tommyknockers can. M.O. good to know. Something about being a kid and losing an afternoon, evening to reading a whole book. :) Maybe if I ban myself from the net for a week I'll catch up? ;) :p

Anyone read his essay "Why we crave horror?"

1. Misery- hands down for me.
2. The Shining- redrum, redrum!

It and Pet Cemetary were the scariest for me. (I didn't read them, my sister read them to me, and I have not read them since).
Sometimes They Come Back and Thinner, movies along that line, were kind of stupid horrors. Didn't care for them too much.

I really liked the what I read of the Dark Tower series. I really liked the first three books (The Gunslinger, The Drawing of the Three and The Wastelands) then the fourth started getting a bit too dark for my taste (The Wizard and Glass). I still have to pick up the last three books to finish the series one of these days.

"Why We Crave Horror Movies." Playboy, Jan, 1981
I read it in a comp. I class, but lost the essay. I'll keep looking Chuk & can.

Rose Red's characters were a cool mix. I love the way he played with the views of science. Mingling fact with fiction for an interesting read is a strong suit of Stephen's.

That cat bags ém big; the man can write! Fiction or non, King rocks! Good time to start that summer reading list. At the rate he's going good luck, eh.
~Thanks for everyone's comments.~
