Partition?

Do any of you computer musicians out there use partitions to set up separate boot OSs for your home computers? I was just reading that a good way to keep your music programs more stable is to partition your hard drive so that you have a "Music" partition to boot to and an "Everthing else" partition to boot to for all the internet/e-mail/word junk.

If so, what's a good program to use to partition?
