Jesus Wept Intro Sample

Well, one of the reasons I joined the forum was to see if someone could help me out with this one. I dunno if anyone's thrilled to hear these types of questions but whateva:

In the intro to Jesus Wept, there is a sample that starts right before the speaker says "Hold on to your faith in God . . . . " and it ends right before the drumbeats leading into the great pumpkin quote.

It's got the piano type instrument (you can see the depth of my technical music knowledge now) and a viola or cello line coming in shortly after. I was wondering if this was actually a sample from another song or was an original composition. If it's a sample, does anyone know what song?

I must have that song, the music haunts me. :cuss: It is incomplete and I must know it all!

First of all, welcome to the forum Bobble! The intro you are referring to was taken off of a little cartoon entitled 'Figure 8' , part of the School House Rock cartoons of the 70's. In the cartoon, a little girl is on ice skates, and does little 8's on the ice, singing about figure 8's...hope this helps you out a little in finding what you need! :wave:

I think i did this many months ago, but for everyone's convenience, i will provide the "Jesus Wept" intro backwards; along with a sample of the song it is part of, "Holding You from Eventually". I apologize for the horrible recording quality, as i am a basic computer user, and dont have access to all the fun gadgets and gizmos that others do to make a better sounding recording...but at least it gives you all the idea. Enjoy! :wave:

(And for the record, i too thought for the longest time that it was a girl chanting in the background, so don't feel bad Louis! :wink: )
